Ace poor

A deck of cards in blackjack that has an unusually low ratio of aces to other cards. An "ace poor" blackjack deck is the opposite of an "ace rich" blackjack deck. When counting cards, generally speaking, it's better to bet less when the deck is ace poor, and better to bet more when the deck is ace rich. Basic strategy changes when the deck is ace poor and ace rich too, because the ratio of aces affects the potential of hitting a blackjack.
